I have a 1988 230 Quadsport bored .030" over with a cobra pipe and that is about it. If you know of any good mods please tell me.

 

A little off the subject, but maybe you can help me. I ride a Honda 300EX (I know, what am I doing in this forum) well, my Dad is looking to ride with me and he spotted an inexpensive 1986 230. I'm gonna go look at it with him and wanted to know anything at all about it. Is it 2 or 4-stroke? Is it tipsy or does it handle well? How many gears? Kickstart? What is the suspension like?

Any insight anyone might have is appreciated. Then if we buy it I'll be able to better respond to your thread here. Sorry to weasel in like this.

Well, it is kickstart, it has five forward gears and a reverse. It handles reasonalble good. The suspension is ok, not the best not the worst. Its a 4 stroke and its not to tipsy. Hope I helped. I hope to have a 300EX realy soon so we can both have Quadsport's and 300EX's.

 

I have a 1987 230S. It is stock besides a Uni filter. I was thinking about putting a Cobra pipe on it. What model did you use? What jetting worked for you? Was it worth the money?

 

I added a Goki starter kit to mine, used a 2001 Honda start/headlamp control pod. Works great! I even added a key switch and a 400ex toolkit container to the grab bar. Now if I could just get it back together I'll put the K&N filter I bought on it!
