im putting my quad together finally and im stuck on the powervalve linkage right now and i need to know if it closed or open when the engine is not running and how much to wind the spring

It should be open and close at about half throttle

Oh yeah..... The manual says 1 full turn counter clockwise on the tension. If you have a ported cylinder or a big pipe, you should turn it more. Maybe 2 to 2 1/2 turns clockwise.....
