it helps because it lets the engine breath deeper.

Sorry, that's wrong. All foam filters flow air at approximately the same rate. K&N will flow better because it's not foam and also lets bigger size particles in your engine. Stock, UNI, Twin-Air foam filters flow the same.

Understanding of course that all manufacturers want to make their products sound like the best thing on the planet, read these links and see the logic and science behind the products. Then make your decision as to what filter is best for your application. The answer to Chewbacca's question is their is no difference between the two filters and no jetting changes will be required.

z250 freak is right on this one, the aftermarket air filters let more air in and you get a lil better performance
