king quad and 250 4x4 quadrunner

They are both great machines but there are a few differences.
King quad is 280cc vs 246cc
Tire size is different
King front24x8x11
king rear 25x10x12
250 front 22x8x10
250 rear 25x12x10
The King Quad also has a mesh screen in front of the oil cooler that the 250 does not have. The guard helps keep the cooling fins on the oil cooler from getting clogged with mud.
The 250 is about $700 cheaper.

Just got my 250 4x4 a couple weeks ago. I spent a couple of afternoons at the dealers riding the king and the 250. This is my first trip into 4wheeling so the 250 seemed lighter and easier to handle also I have a sixteen year old that will be running it alot. Now the more I get use to it the more Im thinking about the king. Don't get me wrong the 250 is doing every thing I want it to but next time I will go with king.

New to the forum but love the site.
I think both are great machines, I have a 1999 quadrunner 250 4x4 and a week old 2000 quadrunner 250 4x4. I was having the same problem deciding which one I would purchase and the deciding factors were the weight difference of 53lbs, the 2' tighter turning radius, hardly noticeable power difference and the price. Which ever you choose you will be happy with, nobody offers the features the suzuki's have.

My brother in law just bought a 2000 250 4x4 QR. He likes it, but he hates the power now that he has taken it out where we ride. He's 6'1" about 200 lbs. I told him it would be too small for him, but he was talked out of it by the dealer, now he regrets not getting the KQ. I let him ride my 92 2x4 LT250 QRunner and he loved the suspension and the ride, but he thought it was underpowered, but it also has over 8,000 miles on it. He figured a new one would be better in performance. He was wrong. If you can spare the extra $$ go for the KQ. He hates it that he can't keep up or go where my wife (his sister), and I can go. She's got a 99 Big Bear, I, 00 Grizzly. He regets not getting the bigger KQ and I think you will too. Just my opinion, Chris

I don't know the exact #'s, but I doubt there is much difference in torque and hp between the 250 and the 300. But there is enough to feel! The gearing is probably different in your Beartracker from the A.Cat. The A.Cat's use Suzuki engines. I'd say they both would run in the low to mid 40's. If you want speed, don't get either, if you want power and good ride quality in a mid-size ATV, go for the KQ, can't do much, if any better than a KQ. Chris
