i am wanting a good durable sport 4wheeler that is worth the money and that will hold up for a long time.
and i have a few questions about these two.
first off i will be riding on trails (some tight and some rather roomy), some mud,and just about everywhere.
which one will be better and how good are they doing these things. exspecially mud(cause there is bottom ground all around where i ride)
i like the fact that honda is more reliable and i like them, but i also like the fact that the suzuki is more powerful and has reverse( where i can back out of tight spots)
so which is better for me, i have had a couple of dirt bikes and just got rid of my polaris 700. i just like the fact that a sport is more fun to ride and is lighter. i can get a 400ex for around $3000 and a z400 for around $4000 so if you can help me on this one please. thanks

try posting in a non honda/suzuki forum.there arent biased decisions in there.i am not a 4 stroke fan.just dont like the way they produce power.i have ridden both many times.get the Z.you wont regret it.we have a very friendly suzuki community.none of us hype about how awsome our quad is.great help on here.

We have a Z400 and a 400ex. The Z400 is nice because it has reverse. We haven't rode it much yet though. In all the shootouts we've seen, the ride is better on the Z400. They say that the 400ex is better in the rough stuff. The seat is a little more aero-dynamic on the Z400 also. You can get a 400ex cheaper than a Z400 though. There was a shootout in a dirtwheels magazine a couple months ago you may want to check out. The Z400 is supposed to have a little more power though (something my boyfriend isn't happy about, lol).

There is no noticable "seat-of-the-pants" power difference, but, looks, liquid cooling, and reverse give the edge to the Z/KFX. plus, the EX is just plain outdated. Pretty soon it will be classified as Hondas version of the Warrior!!
