i was wondering whats an average life for a rebuild on a piped and ported, shaved head 85 quadracer. granted a bearing dotn blow up and you dont suck in dirt, how much time should you get out of it. im contemplating buying a new one or rebuilding the one i have? like years? thanks Bill

 

If everything was done to spec. The average person (weekender) shoud get about 12~16 months before re-ringing it. The bottom end should hold up 3~4 years.
Porting and shaving will shorten the bottom end life to 1~2 years and re-ringing 8~12 months.

 

impossible to say. It depends too much on your riding style, how well you maintenance it, "luck," jetting, oil ratio's, ect.

 

I dont know about suzukis,but i have a 93 cr 250,slighlty modded,on original piston/bore,and its still super fast and super strong and has great compression.take car of it,dont beat it,it will last

i ran a 1986 250 quadracer on my micro sprint and we were rebuilding it every 3-4 races...but then again thats a 271 stroker on alky..it finally gave out on us throwing the rod out threw the bottom of the block
