Dont use after market gaskets.
I just got done rebuilding my 87 Zilla and the shop sold me Cosmic gaskets. After a carefull break in period it was time to get on it. The first hard ride the base gasket blew right out. Now I can't ride this weekend and have to reinstall all of my top end gaskets, just because they sold me cheap replacements. Lession learned.

I used Cometic head gasket on my '85 LT250R, I blew it after about 2 hours. It looked like it had a defect though, like the metal ring part was dented ahead of time. I didn't notice it when i was putting it together though. Anyhow, I put another one on and it has so far lasted for longer than the first one... about 6 hours now.

Used cometic gaskets for years on honda trikes and quads, and zuki r's and never had a problem. Use them on my four strokes now and my friends still use them on thier banshees, blasters, honda r's, and everything else. Never had a problem. You can get a high performance/high compression gasket if you are running higher compression pistons and heads.
