if you wanna stay with a little 250 why don't you look for a Mojave...either that or get a Z 400

I have been considering putting a z400 engine and swing arm on mine....kinda attched to it since its my first quad. Its been extremely reliable and comfortable. Could use a lil more power though. I also like the look and size if it. I don't really like the z400's funky looking double headlight situation.

Default z250 vs. 250ex conversion

It is just not worth the effort $$ wise for either quad. Realistically, what are you hoping to gain by this? You may lose a few pounds on the drive system, and gain the ability to change your gearing. You would probably end up with a rear disc brake in the process too, but none of that is going to boost your HP or really change overall performance much. If you really like the quad, keep it and buy a larger project quad to fix up. Most people in that situation just end up letting the original collect dust or let friends/relatives ride it though.
