Thats a good question..... one thing you should really check is the actual size of your stock tires.... Mine said they were 25's all the way around. When i measured them, they were actually 23's. My new mudlites are 26's and measure just over 25.5
"From a purely geometric perspective, changing the tire diameter could effect the "Perceived Mileage" - assuming the odometer (and speedometer) tabulates the revolutions (RPMs for the speedometer), the traveled distance would be greater than the measured distance if the tire size was increased. (Just as someone would run slightly further if they ran around a track in lane two versus lane one.) Calculating the MPG would provide an error unless the odometer/speedometer was recalibrated for the different size of tire. I dont think ATV computers can be recalibrated acording to tire size. If you find out the way to do it , please fill us in." |

thx for the info....guess i will just live with it for now...my midlites measured the same as yours...putting those tires on makes it a whole new machine....best $250 i have spent ...thx ZIG

When my KQ was stock, the speedometer was not correct. I verified that fact with my GPS. Now, after putting 26 inch Goodyear Mudrunners on....the speedometer is dead on. Go figure.

I think it was calabrated for 25" tires but the stockers are so short it actually is more accurate when you get some bigger ones on? Just a theory.
