Default Son's KFX 50 is a dog

My son's KFX 50 is two years old. I took out the exhaust restricter, but it still drags. I don't mind the speed so much, but it doesn't have much take off, and it will not climb slight uphill grades from a dead stop. My buddy has a nice track we ride on all the time, and unless my boy has a good run for it, he doesn't get halfway up the hill, and it starts to dog out. I've found after market exhausts for @ $160 that somebody said would help take off and low end torque, but I'm not sure what to do. Any info would help.

Yea, they are very restrictive. I think there is a restriction device in the carb also. Then you got the thumb throttle restrictor bolt on that too. It will barely pull me around.

I have an LT50 for my son and I found this forum (http://www.quadzoneforums.com/forums...splay.php?f=52) that some guys have great upgrade ideas. I got lucky and have a Graydon pipe for my sons quad, I'll probably install it this summer when he gets a better feel for riding. Let me know if you have any problems getting to the forum, some of the mods seem pretty easy and hopefully I'll get to them this summer. Good luck.
