Default zilla vs. racer for mx

I dont ride competitively, but before i go selling my racer and picking up a zilla.
I thought Id ask you guys.
I dont do a whole lot of trail riding, more like short bursts of mx, usually 4-5 laps , then a break, some hill climbs, and some trails ever so often.
I love the Q-racer because its light , nimble and has power. Im hoping these charicteristics are the same in the zilla, just with more power?

Who rides, or has ridden both,
Thanks

Let me give you my 2 cents. I Rode a 87 lt250 and loved the quad. Once I got my zilla there is nothing out there I will ever ride again the new 450's are a joke comparred to the zilla do your self one favor invest in the suspension improves ride greatly I know the zilla forward and backward need help let me know. Try to go with 88 thru 90 chassis and 87 engine or get a 87 jug for your engine Just my 2 cents...

well the zilla is not the best for the mx track, but it can be done. ive taken mine there a couple times and you will get tired quick and make shure you have good suspension! i went to a track and i bent every bolt in my rear end

That sounds painful!!! LoL!! Just kidding.

The Zill was initially built for MX, yes, it's heavier than your 250, and thus takes more effort to MX than your 250 does... Still very capable IMHO. Especially with suspension upgrades.

87 has a bigger reed cage(correct me if im wrong) but has 1 less stud and is more prone to head gasket failure....

The 87 has a bigger intake and is known for creating more hp the head bolt problem is as simple as installing larger bolts you will have to drill and tap but i myself have not had and issue with blowing head gaskets the transmission ratios are different on 4th and 5th on the 87 the 88 to 90 has tighter ratio.

Thanks for all the input guys.
Unfortunately , wont matter for now.
The guy who said hed by my quad, which naturally i was gonna use the proceeds to buy the zilla , ended up being some sort of scam.
Kinda sucks, because i ended up having to let myself get out bid by a mere $20 on a pretty nice lookin zilla.
So I think Ill be hangin onto my racer for th e season now, IS ok, I like the racer still.

FYI, watch for this, The guy emailed me, said I want it, pull the ad, etc.
Then followed up saying hed fed ex me a money order for $5000, well over the price i wanted for my quad anyway.
He then wanted me to re-issue a cashiers check for the balance of the sale, the guy was in the UK to boot.
I did a little checking, and it appears (im not positive) that it is some sort of money laundering scheme.
Again , Im not positive, I just didnt want to be on the hook for the new zilla, with a bounced or bad check .

You don't know how lucky you are! You were about to be Scammed! This is very unfortunate that people do this crap, but I've heard of folks losing big $$$ as they Money order they send you is bogus, the one you send them isn't... You lose!

Beware! If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I'd like to meet these bastards in a dark alley.
