88 LT230s won't shift passed Thrid..... HELP
 

I have a 88 LT230S and it will not shift into forth or fifth. It shifts first through third fine but once you try to shift to forth it feels like its hittin the stop or there aren't any more gears left. I found one post that sounds like the same problem but they never said what the problem was. I have split the cases and everything appears to be fine, all the gears were there and all the shift forks met the specs in the book for thickness. Any help would be great. Is there a way i can bench test it to see if all the gears are working fine or could it be a linkage problem or????? Any help would be great.. Thanks alot.

My old lt125 did the same thing, but the gears were all mashed.
