i saw murdr had one. just wondering what it is and where to get it. and if i can do it to my 05 z400 sounds awesome.

It is a big bore kit for the z400, kfx400,dvx400 made by yosh, correct me if im wrong you just send them your motor and they do all the work, its around $2000 but you get everything the do the cylinder, port the head and give you exhaust and all the little stuff.

I believe you buy the kit and it costs about that much then you install it by yourself? I know I can get the yoshi kit or even the Athena kit, in which I am going to get, and have the work done by my mechanic! I can't wait to get it. The parts are on order!!!!

Let me correct everybody here, the 450 engine kit cost around 750.00, now that does not include cams, cdi, and exhaust. If you send it in to yoshi its about a 3 week turn around time and that cost 1450.00 flat. Thats what i had done, along with a port and polish job which cost an additional 400.00. I already had the cams , cdi, and exhaust. I cant begain to tell you how fast it is , i am going upto silver lakes dunes next weekend and i will bring a video camera for documentary the drag racing!!!

The Yoshi kit is excellent. If you want high rpm's I'd put in different cams other then the Yoshi cams.. A carb and pipe and all the usual stuff need to be purchased to make the kit run like it should. We have an Athena 434 and Yoshi in our group.. The Yoshi really rips out of the hole like a raped ape. The Athena is no slacker and will challenge the Yoshi kit,, depending on who did your porting, but the Yoshi has more lowend that the Athena kit can't get..

Thats good to hear, how bad will the yoshi beat the athena and does the yoshi have a port and polish??

Yeah they are both awesome kits I just want to keep the price down a little bit and the reliability well I guess that really isn't an issue for either... maybe?

The Yoshi is not ported. It will be this winter. DAB racing will do the job as his work on the Athena kit is nothing short of outstanding.. The Yoshi is faster buy the slimist of margins. It doesn't rev as well on top as the Athena, and thats due to the porting. Both have the same hot cams. Dollar for dollar the Athena by DAB Racing is the best bang for the buck. The good engine builders don't have to advertise. Their product speaks for themselves and does the advertising.. Who is DAB Racing??? Well if you ever heard of K&T that's where Kim Muchmore worked before he started K&T Performance and the Crankensteins began..

i have the athena kit for almost a year with no problems.i can run with moded yfz450, not beat them but run with them.plus the z has a 30pounds over the yfz.another 450 kit that i also think is good is a 450kit built by gt thunder.

DAB is awesome! It is so nice living near K&T and DAB. I didn't think Utah would offer much but.... wow was I wrong! Hot chicks and great riding does it get any better?
