I know they don't have odometers and there are other factors, but roughly how many miles of trail riding can one expect to get out of a tank of gas?
before reserve?
after reserve is flipped?

One of the first things I do on a new bike, is throw on an IMS Desert Tank (+1 gallon for the Z). But, because of my tank, I can't really help you out here.

 

think its something like 58miles on a tank of gas

 

i've gone around 50 miles on a tank. I have never used the reserve yet

 

Rode 100 miles this weekend and only filled up once. I think i couldve easily done 130...

 

Just like anything, it depends. If you are riding fast & agressively, hills, sand etc. I went from Fillmore over to Richfield last year on a tank. My bro-in-law's dad had an odometer that showed 76 miles. I did have to switch to reserve for the last 5-10 miles but reserve is .7 gallons (roughly about 1/4 tank). In the dunes you might be on reserve after a couple of hours of hard riding. It also depends on if it is piped/jetted = burns more gas.

 

very true. I know if i'm on it hard most of the time i'm lucky to go 35miles
