Default 87 quadracer clutch problems

hi have a 87 quadracer and my clutch is all messed up....i bought the quad and everything was going fine with it....now when i pull in the clutch there is no tension....it just flops back and forth...its like there is no spring to it and it isn't engaging. it also has trouble going into neutral...but when i do get it into neutral and i start it....it runs fine for a few seconds then it jams into gear and stalls out...if anyone could help me with this problem i would greatly appreciate it...thanx

is the clutch arm moving when you pull in the clutch?? if it isnt, your cable is jacked, if it is, then theres a possibility that the clutch arm is broken and not making contact with the clutch rod. I can't see all the clutch spring retaining bolts being broken, and I would think that would make a hell of a racket in the basket.

hey....yeah i finally got time to take it apart and found out that the reject that put it together last...(previous owner) did not tighten the clutch spring bolts to torq specs...let alone tighten them at all...not to mention it was missing one spring and screw....yeah i just bought this bike so i was pretty upset....but i talked to the previous owner and made a deal with him....so i pretty much got this bike for 500 bucks....and besides the plastics, its in awesome shape....but thanx anyways ...take care
