Well i ve had my 2006 vinson for about a week and the tranny is making a knock noise. It only dose it when its under strain like when shifting up to the next gear. It runs great but just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem. Thanks Craig.

 

My Eiger does the same noise, if it's the sound i'm thinking of

 

mine has a whine to it but no knock. that doesnt sound right

 

Is this occuring after switchin ranges?
If so then try switching ranges with the machine in first gear.

 

Well its more of a tap than a knock i guess in high range it will start doing it in about third gear. in low range it starts about 4th gear it does it when i speed up only. when i let off is stops. it shifts fine and runs great. it just dosen't sound right. thanks

 

Sorry i foregot to say that the sound is by the sight guage for the oil.

 

If you weren't so sure that it is a tranny noise, I'd wonder if it was a pinging noise from too low octane fuel.

Just a thought.

 

I've been running 89 for fuel and 10w40 for oil. The noise is in the bottom of the motor.

 

now that noise your talking about from the bottom of the motor mine does that too. it sounds like a low end rod knock when in a strain. i took mine to the dealer and he said it was the cluthes tapping together making the noise. they only do it when your in to high a gear for the speed your running. according to my dealer its normal. let your dealer listen to yours and see what he says. if he tells you the same thing its true. but if its something else one of them is lying.
