85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.
There's a 260 and a 265 kit. I think I have a 265 piston. I sold my 260 kit tho.
Alright, so you all seem like experts. So I'll annoy you guys with more questions whenever I start my wheeler, it smokes like mad. Any more and I'd be putting clouds in the sky. But it only happens for the first 30 or 40 seconds of it being started. I'm colorblind, but my friend says it's blue smoke, but I've seen a bike burning the blue and I am not sure if I believe him. Does anyone know what could be wrong with it? I'm thinking the rings, but I'm not sure.

do a top end rebuild with new rings and gaskets etc... bore it out .010 over where you currently are and put a wiseco piston in it, 250S cam, uni air filter, take off your air box lid, re-jet your carb, and put on a 39T rear sprocket and that little quad will be plenty fast for trail riding. It will waste most warriors and 300ex's like that, and give most of your 400 and 450 sport quads a suprising run for their money.
Another thing to do if your going to be doing alot of trails and such is upgrade the suspension. LT250R fron shocks are a bolt on upgrade if you keep them on the lowest preload setting and they can be had fairly cheap. I just bought a set for $33 on ebay including shipping. I havent got them on yet, but everyone says its a world of difference. Warrior rear shocks are a nice upgrade in the rear because they are re-buildable, but they might require you to make some bushings to fit snug in the mounting holes.
Have fun

We stock plenty of the Wiseco pistons at HyperParts.com. Here's a link to the '88 Suzuki LT-230S listings. Hope this helps!

you're right randy. For some reason i thought i had a .010 over piston in mine, but i went back and checked and it's .020
in other news... my front shocks came in the mail today, cant wait to mount them up after work, already took them out to the shop and set them to the lowest preload setting

It could be the valve seals making it smoke also. If it smokes all the time its rings, but if it only smokes when cold or after a start it can be the valve seals. After a ride and after it has cooled pull the plug and look in the plug hole. If the top of the pistons wet with oil its the valve seals.
Can you go .010 over? I thought it was 4 steps, .5mm at a time up to 2mm over. Which would be 20, 40, 60, and 80 over. I would go 60 or 80 over and get the cc's up in the 240s.
