Although I cant do the rear end modification because mine is a GE.

I guess putting in a different drive shaft or lengthening it may be possible.
Thanks! I like to tinker too

The easiest thing to do might be to take the ujoint apart and add a 4 inch driveshaft and another ujoint.

correct me if i'm wrong, or thats bad
That sounds right to me. I don't know... maybe you need an exorcism? lol

A while back a friend had a 250s I could set an empty beer can on the kicker and it would sink lol. It ran great, but he didn't put any oil in it to be blown out, so not sure what would have happened.

Keep us posted!

Well the king quad project has been shelved for a while... there's some trouble getting a cam chain. Apparently Tsubaki had the wrong chain listed in their catalog. Since it would cost bikebandit as much to send me a return label as the chain costs, they just told me to keep it. Yippy. I guess I can use it on my 250s.

So with my new-found free time I decided to tackle the piston lightening project.

This is what I did so far:

I think it looks pretty snazzy! I managed to get 5 grams off it.... which is pretty good I hear. Most guys get 3 off V8 pistons. But I give most of the credit to wiseco for making the thing so freaking heavy to start with lol

A stock 66mm 230 piston weighs 151 grams and the pin weighs 32 grams. 183 total.
A 67.5 wiseco 230 piston weighs 173 grams and the pin weighs 50.5 grams. 223.5 total.

Don't think 1.5mm should weigh 40.5 grams either because a stock 68.5mm 250s piston weighs 163.4 grams and the pin is 50 grams. 213.4 total. Its a full 1mm bigger and 10 grams lighter than the wiseco.

The 73mm wiseco weighs 200 grams and the pin 56.4. 256.4 total. And I managed to remove 5 of it lol

Here's what it looked like before:

It really is pretty easy and so long as I don't have any catastrophic failures, I'm going to make this standard practice on all my builds.... for whatever its worth. Lets not forget these:

wish me luck!

I would just use rtv. I wouldn't buy a cover until you get the chain problem fixed... and I don't see a new chain as a solution.
