By now, being crazy is a mute point sir. Thats the reason im here. I passed the idea of a toy hauler past my wife awhile back.............................................. ......it just kept going..........!!!!!!!!!!?

3k is a nice round figure for a 230 ground up rebuild. I would like to see you surpass me P.G. It just means I wont be the most crazy of the bunch.
Im still considering that big bore upgrade though.

Personally if I were going to customize a frame to fit a bike engine I would probably go with a little bigger, newer quad. Not that theres anything wrong with the 230 but I would rather put alot more time into something that will have more options with aftermarket parts (such as suspension parts, a-arms, swingarms etc. ) . If you notice the 230 engine is kind of small compared to others of it same cc, and it is pretty tight in there so you will be doing a good bit of cutin' and weldin'. I personally would probably go with the Banshee frame or possibly the 300ex or 400ex, the Honda's seem to have a little extra room in the engine compartment. But I'm sure there is someone out there who has done it and will totally disagree with everything I said, lets just wait and hear their side.

I went riden today.
Took the Sport and my Big Bear down to my pops land. He and I run around the farm several hours. Its was good to get the 230 out and run it.
I forget how much fun it is to get out and just flog the hell out of the 230. Hills, mud, wide open in the stretch, man...its great. To be 20 years old, it is still a very fun machine.

Its not showing any signs of slowing up any time soon either.

Heres to another 20.

One of the ebay "stores" ocasionally has new, not rebuilt calipers, bout $150 plus shipping, if I can find my recipt I'll let you know exatcly which one.
A big bore kit REPLACES your existing sleeve. A machine shop has to remove your old sleeve and install the new one that comes in the kit. Forgive my terminology as I am no where near a mechanic. You can only bore out the factory sleeve so much, 240 245 maybe? The biggest you can go on a 230 without changing the stroke is 265.

There are guys in here that can explain it MUCH better than I, but I think thats about the gist of it. Hope it helps.
