If they have one of yours in house it's just a swap. If not they can rewind.

Default I fixed it...rather easily actually...

Turns out I had the slide (whatever you call it) 180 degrees off. Rotated it and put it back together and it fired right up and idled like a champ. My main problem these days is the dang swing arm bushings/bearings. I have to replace them damn near every month because they just get so worn out. I don't see why we couldn't just put a solid rubber bushing there instead of the bearings which get crushed really easily. I've tried 3 different brands so far and they've all disintegrated after only a couple of rides. I do have other issues but right now the quad is rideable at least.

Default New motor, a Kawasaki Ninja 500cc

I cut up a free LT230s with half a motor and put in a Kawasaki ninja 500cc 2 cylinder.

Welcome to the forums.

Taking the muffler off will not give you any power, It will hurt the motor. Do not do that.

Default Giving it a go.

Hi all. Scored me a ltf230 engine and frame, I think it's an 86, I'm hoping to put it onto a go cart somehow. My question would be, how do/can I delete the final drive unit and make it chain operated. I think there's a dirt bike version I could maybe use but not sure. Was seized, got it free, now just working on how to break it down without replacing a whole lot of things. Any ideas pls?

I have done something like this on a Chinese brand ATV,
Take the drive shaft unit off and you will see if the Transmission shaft has Spines that will take a sprocket...
I was able to put a 2012 Honda CRF150 front sprocket on it.
Can you post a pic of the shaft?

So I got the gear cog off, but it looks like I may need to modify the final drive housing back plate to accommodate a chain running through, or something along those lines. I'd rebuild and swap it but it sounds like one of the best first timer motors, plus its almost as old as me lol

Anybody know what happened to the vault? I'd love to see that site back up and running.
