Hi there. I was wondering if anyone here hauls there Z400 in an xtra cab Tacoma and if the bike fits well in the box. I am going to be buying a Z in march and own an 01 taco. Anway i was measuring the box and it seems the inside of the wheel wells is 40 inches and i read the Z is 45.9 inches wide. I was wondering if the bike slides down enough in the front of box past the wheel wells for a proper fit or does it sit on an angle. And also is it better facing forward or backwards. One more thing...is the grab bar easliy removed for transport if need be? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

 

I dont think it will fit that good, with the cap on. If you NEED to bring it somewhere, let some air out of the tires and maybe bend down the handlebars

 

Thanks for the help but i think you misunderstood......i don't have a cap on the back. The xtra cab refers to the shorter version than the extended cab.

 

My little bro has a zr5 s-10 and his 400 will not fit in his but it is a little truck anyway.My warrior just will fit with something it front of his back glass to keep my bumper out of it.

 

I fit a '05 King Quad 700 in my 97 Tacoma.It is a tight fit,and I cannot shut the tailgate.I would think the Z would fit with the ability to shut the tailgate even.Just drive up over the wheel wells and it should work.

 

I have an 03 Ford Ranger 4X4 Extended cab, and my Z fits, have to ride over the wheel-wells. Check the dimensions of your truck to a FX4, and you'll know.

 

It should fit, but if you dont want the wheel wells scratched up load it with two people. Push it up the ramps and have the guy in the truck pick up the tires over the wheel wells. I haul my Z in a standard dakota and have a buddy that hauls his in a quad cab dakota, he cant get his tailgate up, but thats what tie downs are for.

 

If it is a 6 foot bed it will fit lenght wise. I had a 03 nissan frontier with a 6 foot bed and it will fit width wise (little tight but it will fit). I could also shut the tailgate, Which is a good thing.

 

I have a black plastic bed liner but will this liner over the wheel wells get scratched as well?
