Default Steering Stems...

Was thinking of getting a new steering stem & was looking for abit of info from you all.

What stem do you have on your Z???

Who makes the best stem for the buck???

Can you keep the stock lights/key switch on a aftermarket stem???

What about stem length? Stock, +1, +2...

Any ideas would be great, thx all

i have the houser +0 stem. bought it from magicracing and it was about the same price that my dealer wanted for a stock one. the only catch is that you have to buy their handlebar clamp as well which cost an extra 75 bucks. it looks good though and you can still use all your stock lights and switches, but im going to remount all of mine so that i can show off the billet clamp cause it looks pretty nice.

I don't have a z400 but would recommend the houser like lilhodgson had said depending on how high you want the bars to sit would problably depend on if you wanted any added length to the stem.If you think that the bars are too low stock then would recommend adding some lenth and the billet bars and clamp really look nice I have then on my ds650 and love them but they are from trail tech. But if you are just trail riding nad messing around I wouldn't go spending the money on a new stem unless you wanted length added b/c its not worth it if you don't like the look of it get it powdercoated.

Well A few emails to a tec @ houser. I ended up going with this stem Red, +2 & this trail tec bar clamp still had to buy the anti vibe mount but the tec said that it will bolt up & look nice.

Thx for your input guys
