suzki ltr450 vs. honda trx450r

i read about this comparrison test and it was called the best 450cc class atv. so i went to it and it said yfz, ltr, and 450r drag racing. they said that the yfz will do great for about 150ft. and then the ltr will pull up to the yfz and if the ground is loose it will be a draw with the yfz and ltr a tie for 1st and the 450r 3rd. but it also said if the ltr could get a lot of traction and the straight is really long the ltr will win yfz 2nd and 450r last. well i would like to see what you guys think of it? so do you guys think it is a lie or no?

depends on rider, when the bike was built, time of the day, temp, and alignment of the moons. Seriously, the yfz is fastest in stock trim. The 450r next, then the ltr. Put a $40 cherry bomb, take the air lid off, and restrictor out the exhaust and the LTR will smoke the 450r and YFZ. You can't spend $40 on the yfz or 450r to make that kinda of difference.

What about jets, no lid, and no baffle? and i mean NO baffle, not just a little restrictor on the inside of the baffle (if it has one, some do)

i bet the yfz could be close- but you still have the 18lb weight penalty on the ltr450, 368lbs? thats almost as heavy as a z400, 358 would sound much more attractive, 359 is still too close to 360 for me, and i dont like how the numbers look, but thats just me

18LBS. .....get real. the weight of two different riders could easily vary by more than that. id take the extra 18lbs to have the fuel injection.

i agree. i have a 700 raptor and love the fuel injection. reverse to! the thing i love abou the fuel inection is that when you start upgrading you dont always have to mess with the jets you just tell the computer to give the engine more fuel. its so easy to do

the weight of the quad combined with the rider only affects acceleration- the weight of the quad affects how easy or hard it is to maneuver it in the air.... EFI does rock- should be on the 09 trx450r, cuz its on the 08 crf450r and crf250r- those are SO nice

I would take efi over a carb too- any day of the year (especially cold winter days that a carb would not be jetted for) I guess i was just arguing for the sake of arguing- but i suppose you could also get great gains on yfz450 if you got rid of the airbox lid, baffle, and rejetted

PS what is a cherry bomb- cdi? efi controller? i really do not know since everyone just calls it a cherry bomb (i didnt research it either, and i've just never heard of something like cherry bomb until i heard of the ltr450

2010- should be all efi- s'all good then
