So, I'm trying to sort out a knocking noise in the engine of a Z-400.

Q 1. about the counter balancer, should there be pins inside all the springs or just 2 of them. I only found 2 springs that had a pin in the center.
if it's only "2" where do they go in relation to the locating dot.

Q 2. about the clutch basket, on the back side of the clutch basket are springs, should all of them be tight (pre-loaded) because I found some that were loose with almost 1/4 of play (back and forth movement)

Neither seemed right???

Q1 there is 4 springs and 2 pins, when looking at the dot the first spring on the right and the spring across from it gets the pin

Q2 all the bolts on the clutch springs should be tight
