2002 EIGER dies/hard to start

I have had problems with my 2002 Eiger since last April running right!
Right now it dies 50-75% of the time after running above idle and let off throttle. It is also hard to start. Carb was adjusted earlier so it did not die when off throttle but when on throttle.

Why I know it is not the Carb. I also have a 2005 Eiger. I took both Carbs out and adjusted all settings on the 2002 like the 2005 Eiger. Reinstalled 2002 carb back the 2002 Nothing changed/it dies when let off of the throttle. So I installe the 2005 carb in the 2002 and still no change/dies when let off of the throttle. Then installed the 2002 carb in the 2005 and the 2005 run just fine with no adjustments needed to carb.

IT RUNS GREAT BESIDES IT DIEING AND HARD STARTING!

So it looks like something wrong with engine. I have check valve clarence and even had someone else check them already.

So Should I just start takeing the top end off and check for worn parts? Could it be the Cam chane tension adjuster? (It looks easy to check per the manual)

If any more information is need for a good answer let me know. Any possible answers will be helpful.

2002 EIGER dies/hard to start

UPDATE:

I have swapped the C.D.I.'S and it made the 2002 run much better and then the 2005 worse with the 2002's C.D.I. in it.
The C.D.I. are not the same part number per the parts list (at least I do not think so, I have not found a 2002 listed for the C.D.I. just yr 03-04 for one and yr 05-08 for a different one) I'm assume it should be with the yr 03-04 models. The newer model replaces the older model if I order one.
Would a good older C.D.I. work in a new model Eiger? What is the difference in the C.D.I.'s?

It is still starting hard (if I trun the idle it will start fine but then it is too high to but into and out of gear). So I do plan to recheck the intake valve cleance and check for cam wear while I'm taking it apart.

If anyone has any answers or idea's on the C.D.I's that would be helpful.
