84 LT 185 won't start after washing it
 

My kids LT185 runs strong but not in the rain or after washing it! I re-sealed the left case where the magnito wires come out, check, cleaned and greased the outer part of the connections below the headlight. Still the same. Are their ignition connectors inside the headlight housing I should check?
Did I read here someone fixed their's with a CDI swap? Other wise warm or cold it starts with a half pull of the rope! My guess is that it has to be no spark but haven't had a chance to check it when it's acting up.
Is there a CDI check with a voltmeter? Is it possible to check the magnito coils with a voltmeter? Would metal debris between the magnets on the magnito lessen the magnet's effects and act up when the resistance is high when it's wet out? Thanks!
