Suzuki Eiger 400 - 4WD switch
I am looking to buy a used Suzuki Eiger 400. After a test ride and quick visual inspection everything looks good but the 4WD switch just flops up and down. I don't know much about the machine or the switch function itself. Is it likely a broken cable, loose cable or something broke within the switch itself? If the whole thing needs replaced, what is the PITA factor (pain in the a**) to replace it and what would be the rough cost?
Thanks ! Any help would be appreciated. |

You can only buy the entire lever assembly, about $80. The cable could be broken but more likely the small plastic cam inside the lever can also break. It's easy to replace, hardest thing is shelling out the $80 for parts.

The switch does move easy on it's own. Your sure it it not working?

If the cable or the lever internals breaks, the bike will default into 4wd.

Suzuki Eiger 400 - 4WD switch
All,
Thanks for the information. If it is still for sale, I will likely make an offer on it this weekend... and yes, the switch is broken - flops up and down on every bump. I could tell it was staying in 4wd during cornering, something I will "have" to get used to since I mostly ride sport atvs. |

Someone on ebay sells an aluminum inner cable holder that replaces the factory plastic one in the 4wd switch.
