Default Stubborn LT-80

I pretty difficult to start unless on choke (I know they are easier to start from cold with choke). Even on choke, still struggles to fire up without throttle (Most of the time no throttle and choke ge them going straight away).

Seemed to be better with fuel valve on PRI setting but is now back to what it was like on ON setting.

Once bike is going it goes fine but will die if you come offf throttle and leave it for a minute or so.

Not a well used bike so I'm sure there's plenty of compression.

I'm guessing either crap in the main jet or a problem with the fuel flow from the tank??? Am also possible thinking of the Reeds?

Any ideas anyone? (Particularly LT-80 as I know he's the Daddy ;-)

Ta.

Did a compression test today on cylinder and it is way below that of another LT-80 I have. Find this quite strange as it's a fairly new bike and hasn't had a lot of use????

So the solution is new piston and rings then?

I'll have to come back to you with the reading as a friend of mine compared 2 bikes and said the probematic one was way below ther other one.

Have already had carb off and cleaned it out. Seems fine...

Bit miffed as to why a lightly used bike has lost compression???

180....who was into that one??
Stock is like 120 or so.
After a dbl check on readings <EG> I'd call Zuki and get a nice new piston/rings/pin,pin brg, and cir clips.
