I have a 2007 ltr 450 sometimes when i am riding it starts to smoke very bad out the exhaust and there will be a small amout of engine oil inside the airfilter and box. It doesnt do it all the time. Can anyone give me some advice on what might be the problem. Thanks

 

it is time to overhauland be sure to check to make sure the cylinder coating is good

 

I have the same thing in an 07 450r. Smokes sometimes and has oil in the airbox. Not real familiar with these quads. Are you sure about the "time to overhaul"? You mean its already time to rbld the top??

 

Locate the crank case breather, at extreme angles oil will purge from the engine to the air intake system via the crank case breather. Also If engine oil is overfilled, just a little bit it will cause this problem due to base pressure and an excess amount of oil. Oil will push through the crank case breather. Do your research and let the tear down be your last option. Good luck
