Suzuki eiger won't idle
I have a 2006 Suzuki Eiger that will not idle unless I have the choke fully open. I just noticed that if I block the airflow from the breather, it will run much more smoothly. I have taken the carb apart and it really wasn't that dirty. I have also emptied the gas tank and burned approximately 1/2 tank with Seafoam to try and take care of anything that I may have missed in my cleaning. I just purchased this bike and it has set up for a couple of months. anyone have any ideas as to what could be the problem?

You'll need to disassemble the carb again. Remove all the jets, tubes, float, float needle--everything. Then use a can of carb cleaner to spray through each jet, each port, etc, until the carb cleaner runs clean and clear out the other side.

Eigher Carb
Very True. I had the same symptoms and a friend took the carb all the way down. Cleaned it with carb spray and stuck a small punch into every hole. The carb looked just fine when he had taken it apart and looked it over but he did as the above post and that solved the problem.
Took about 3 hours to take off the houseing and get the carb out and back in. Works like a champ. I only have about 1500 miles on the machine and it has been taken good care of. He told me to be sure to use STABLE in the gas. As an aside, I am still running the very first battery and my Eiger is a 2002 model. I do run the machine two or three times a month for good bit to keep the battery up and also to keep the grease seals in good shape. Dewbaby |
