2005 z400 rpm's take longer to die down...

i have a 2005 z400. big bore 440 with a ct pipe and proflow intake. it runs perfect , idles perfect.... but i noticed when i ride and i'm going to slow down and let off the throttle it takes a bit longer to die down in rpm's...... any ideas?

running lean. try adjusting fuel screw richer 1/4 turn at a time

lean you say.... i mean i have it tuned perfectly to CT's specs but who knows i prob could be lean, i just changed the plug didnt notice anything out of ordinary, and i actually put it up a jet size for the break in .....

is it possible that you have a pinched or pulling throttle cable? or maybe dirt and grime in it? you may wanna try blowin wd40 through it

Z440jumpoff Dec 18, 2009 02:29 PM

could it be my cdi?

NewportHillClimber Dec 18, 2009 06:00 PM

not usually. if its taking a bit to come down in rpms its usually a carb issue or air filter issue. but anything is possible

Z440jumpoff Dec 18, 2009 06:08 PM

yeah i need to just get a zilla or a racer like a 92 and just call it a day
