1987 lt230 help

Hi, im new to this site and was wondering if you guys could help.
i have an lt 230 and its bored over .20. problem is that when i ride with my friend in which he has a 1991 trx 250x he always leaves me when were riding. i would love to be able to at least keep up with him or mabe beat him if its possible lol.
What do you guys suggest i do to make my quad faster than what it is now?
Thanks for the help!

what you got on ther after market besides being bored over the trx 250 bikes are fast so we will have to see what you have so far

The boring is really the only thing i have on there right now everything else is stock.
Thanks for the reply

Is this from takeoff? Or all around? Might wanna play around with ur sprockets, is his stock?

bigboy22157 05-22-2011 11:33 PM

all he has on his is a k&n air filter...... and i hang with him a little on takeoff but he ends up killing me after he gets out of 1st gear
thnks for the help

he also beats me on top speed also.
would you recommend me getting a big bore?
the one i was looking at would put me at a 260cc.
would it be worth it? would it give me what im looking for?

dakbee 05-23-2011 12:02 AM

Question is, are you happy with your power? Or you just wanting to beat him? Is it gonna.be worth it money wise just to say u can beat him?

bigboy22157 05-23-2011 12:14 AM

i really want more power and speed. i dont really have to beat him it would just be nice to keep up with him ya know instead of being way behind all the time. just wanted some opinions on what i could do to make it faster.
thanks

K, does urs run pretty good? No clutch slip or need a tuneup? Ive read on here that 230s will eat most 300s

bigboy22157 05-23-2011 12:26 AM

no iv done everthing like that and the clutch is still good dont slip or anything it runs great.
