well the neutral and reverse light work off a sensor on the back of the motor. if you are looking at the motor from the back, its on the right hand bottom side, or at least it should be. check to make sure the wires arent broke or shorting out against the frame.

 

There are two of them one where trailrider said and another one below the front sprocket.

 

I think I saw the one below the front sprocket. How is that one sealed. It looked like there was a small oil leak right there.

 

i think it uses a couple of screws and a rubber o ring.

the neutral switch is $35 on cheapcycle.com and the reverse switch is around $50.

 

Well, I installed the new starter solenoid and still nothing. Any other ideas? I checked the main fuse and it was fine. I even traced as much of the wires as I could see and couldnt see any problems. Any other ideas on why the electric start wouldn't work?

 

maybe the push button on the handle bars? or relay? i'm not to sure really.

 

Do you know where the relay is located?

my best guess on the location is by the CDI under the fuel tank or on the pull start side of the frame. you might want to pull the plastics off to find it. i thought i had a picture of the wiring harness and where it runs on the frame but all i had was a pic of the harness itself.

I found out the neutral base sensor was cracked. I ordered a new one and hopefully that's the reason for the indicator lights and the starter switch not working. If it doesn't know that it's in neutral it won't start with the button. I did find out that if you cross the posts on the solenoid that the electric start works now.
