1985 suzuki quad 185 won't start
 

My 1985 quad ran just fine. 2 weeks ago had to walk away from it before it warmed up. It died and has not started since. Its getting spark, Its getting gas but just won't start.
Anybody have any ideas?

Maybe a compression/valve problem?

I would run a compression test on it, Does the spark plug smell like gas? I've been away from atvs/bikes ect. for a long time. I used to be able to figure this stuff out when I was like 12! Getting back into the game!

Is it flooding? Clean the carb maybe?

Pulled the plug. Compression seemed good. Observed gas flowing out the overflow tube from the bowl of the carb. almost constantly while running (yes I did eventually get er goin). Looks like I need a carb. rebuiled.

Seems float is stuck. 1985... You may want to r&r the carb. They get pretty corroded from sitting and being that its almost 20 years old it probably needs to replace it.
