05-06 King Quad Owners- replalce this tube asap-

I was explaining to my dealer about my high idle, which does not come down, & he said to replace the intake rubber tube/boot, which leads from the air box to the engine intake- He said they had several ones which they replaced, when they serviced the units that came in. There is a superseded number, that replaces the OEM one- He said even if the boot looks good, its when you remove it, there can be a crack in the boot, & you can't see it most of the time. This can cause high idle and damage your engine, if dirt gets in there-I will do it next weekend, when I get back-Boot was less than $10.00. So if this helps anyone else...JFI

If the rubber boot between the carb and the engine was cracked, I can see causing a
lean condition and a fast idle. But if the rubber boot betw the air box and carb intake
was cracked, I don't see how that caused that problem.

No carb on -05-06 700 king quads - EFI fuel injection- advice was given from dealer, who has 40 + years of tech service himself(not just setting behind desk), including awards of tech achievements in his trade- Those who have this model Kq, would know which part this is, once seeing the rubber boot in the photo- The original boot may have been made with materials, which did not perform as designed, per dealer, very common for this tube to dry out & crack over time-that is likely why it has been superseded with a different part number. High idle can be caused also by a malfunctioning, ISC Module #13520-31G00 MOTOR, ISC STEPPING - MOTOR, ISC STEPPING and/or throttle adjustment from wear & Tear. Love the machine, & I believe we will be up dating it to a new ATV this spring- Found a great dealer on the internet for huge discounts on oem parts. out of Toledo Ohio. best pricing I've ever found!

Now that explains it! I did not know which KQ you had. I have several hours on an 07 KQ700FI, and it ran great.
If you have an air leak in the intake boot of an FI system, the engine computer can get confused as the air flow is measured there, and it would have gotten a false reading.
