2000 suzuki won't stay in 4 wheel drine

i have a 2000 quad runner 300 when i put it in 4 wheel it kind of grinde and i usually gave to hold theshift knob forward any ideas :thanks:

Lower your idle speed and try it again...may simply be idled too high.
