Suzuki lt230s help please!
 

Hello everyone I have a 86 suzuki lt230s that used to run like a beast! Until thebstator coil went out and I decided to do rings also, well long story short she doesn' run now at all, all that happens is the header glows red, I've timed it, put the new rings stator coil cam retainer, ign coil. Nothing has helped it does spark. It barley. What I'm asking for is help, does it need to be at TDC when you line up the crank and cam timing marks, and I may of installed the compression release rod wrong but I'm not sure cause there are not any diagrams that I've seen that show how to re insert it? Thanks in advance to any help as I've been fighting this thing for years and I want my first quad to be running with the pack again!

When you re-ringed it, did you measure the bore? (in spec)

when I brought the cylinder and piston in to the parts shop they measured it and went by the numbers on the piston, from there they ordered me a set of rings, I did notice after I threw it all back together when I kick it over it doesn't have the compression it used to, me thinking the compression release might of been installed wrong I popped it out and tried to kick just to see if it would catch you know, it got harder to kick but nowhere near how it used to feel. This bike was in boxes when I got it and now I'm starting to see why it was still in boxes hahaha
