Ticking noise on my Z400
 

Bought a KFX400 so a Z400 this is my first four stroke so I am excited

But want insight into this noise


Some say its normal but that is loud to me, My friend had a freak quad 350x bored to 400 on a 250X frame and his cam was beyond shot and it made this sound,

Its a KFX400(LTZ400) Stage 2 Hot Cams, 470 Big Bore Kit, 5MM Crank

Might be the cam chain tensioner. My 07 had a tick and I replaced the auto tensioner with the manual version.

I would guess at chain tensioner or big valve clearances, worn cam followers can also cause that sort of noise.
