The swingarm on the LT250R I recently purchased has a pretty bad crack in it, do you think this is something that can be welded safely? I'm not a huge jumper by any means but I do some jumps that will get me about 5' off the ground.

Yeah .. that looks like it can be welded safely ... sure it wouldn't be as strong as it was origionally but it worth a try and it will save u quite a few $$$s

You should be able to find a 85-86 swingarm on EBAY for short money real easy. I have a 92 and that year swingarm is not interchangable with any others, so I had three cracks welded by some hack, one rebroke along the top of the swingarm, so I had a real good welder weld the crack and weld a piece of alluminum over the seem, it hasn't broke since.

yes , your swingarm can be welded safely. welds are stronger than the metal around it (if done correctly) just make sure the person you have doing it is a good welder. The tig process is the best process for aluminium
