I might buy my friends 87 Lt 250 quadracer. I wanted to know what the best pipe and silencer would be. For the most overall power.

A lot of people claim the LRD is the best because it's adjustable.

i'm also looking at getting a different pipe when i can afford it. right now i'm running a FMF gold series, but i know there is more power to be had.
i thought that the LRD was the stuff to go with until i saw one on a '91 at a hare scramble.... it rubbed on the upper A-arm. i was not impressed. the chrome looked great, and while i think adjustability is cool, once I find the setting i like i'm never going to change it again....so why not get a non-adjustable pipe then?
as for other pipes, i'm looking into paul turner, FTZ, and CT. i've been impressed with the FTZ pipes i've seen on hondas, but i'm not sure how well thier pipe will fit and perform on the LT.
if anybody has these on thier quad, i'm interested in hearing about them too.

Mine has never rubbed, don't know what was happening with that. I love my LRD, true I don't adjust it very often but power is great everywhere. Looks great, I looked at many pipes befor getting this one and it has to be the best looking pipe for the LT there is. Thats just my personal opinion.

As you may notice from my sig, I deal with FTZ often. They are currently redoing the TT banshee motor. The pipe that they offer for 250's has had major dyno testing. Not the cheesy rear wheel dyno, but one driven directly from the countershaft. This pipe is used in microsprint racing, where extreme torque and high horsepower is a neccesity. They also have s trick setup for a LT (I looked at having it done to mine) where they use a YZ piston. I would look hard at their pipes. I just wish I could talk Jon, the owner, into making a set of inframe banshee pipes.

ftz doesnt offer their pipes in chrome at this time, said the chromer person wasnt standing behind his work.

Right now it has a old DG pipe that looks really bad on it with stock silencer. Does pro circuit make a pipe and silencer?

I've seen some guys use the YZ piston, too...

Don't ask why, but that's what I read they did back in the day of Factory stadium racing...

I have a Paul Turner pipe for sale. Make offer. I never used it myself (I bought an FMF before I got the motor put together and put it on). I was told you must use a Paul Turner silencer but if your good you can make mounts to move your silencer toword the front and it will work. (Saw it done on my buddies LT)
