I would like to know this cause no other company(except HSD racing I think) does but I have heard that Laeger's does. I would like to know for sure, cause my stock frame is gettin shabby. If anybody has any info reply back please. Thanks

LT250RSuperstar: I have done a bunch of research on this subject and HSD is the only company that I know of. Laeger doesn't offer any thing (frame wise) for the LT's. The Kit that HSD offers is a nice bargin and I've seen their work (very nice!), but the freight charges can eat you up quick. I would strip down the quad, sandblast the frame, add gussets to all the weak points up front on the frame (espicially on top shock mounts) and either repaint or powdercoat it. This will hold up quite well.

i think lonestar maybe it was offered an aftermarket frame waaay back in the day. if its true good luck finding one tho.

Sanojoe, I have heard of guys doin what you said, but I don't know where the weak points are in the front. How do I reinforce the top shock mounts. Also by any chance do you know how much that kit cost from HSD cause I think HSD has a dealer here in Iowa somewhere? Is that Pro-Trax frontend just a kit like the HSD?
Also, Juggalo is that a definite on what you said? I really would like to know, cause they might have 1 or 2 just layin around (ya never know). |
i know i read on here somewhere that one of the frame builders used to make a frame for the LT but i can't garentee its true. but your right they might have one or 2 laying around. why not give them a call. and if they say they never made one ask if they know of a company that did make them and see if you can get a hold of them. i think if the LT had a better frame it would definately be the choice of the pros because the engine is awesome.

Just recently an aftermarket frame for the lt250r was sold on ebay. it was either lonestar or leager. honda suspension, suzuki engine, plastic, radiator, etc. YOu might be able to do a search on ebay and see it. Their was some good pictures there.

for a short time JP racing(now lonestar) made a custom LT frame that had almost all '89 trx250r suspension and geometry.
also for a short time laegers produced a full long travel pro-trax frame that housed the LT motors... the sponsored rider on HSD's website has one of them. i inquired with HSD about the frame mod, and for what it is it, looks to be a great deal. at the time i was asking about it he had not built one yet, but i guess he was hoping to snag a guinnea pig that would pay full price for it... not me, i don't have that kind of cash to dump into the LT all at once, just to hope that it works. once i've seen it in action, i'll consider it as something to save up for... in fact mark from HSD has been on these boards & this is where i was asking about it. |
Yeah I saw that racer in the picture (Nick Dienst I think) and I noticed that the frame wasn't a stock frame. So I wondered where he got the frame/chassis. I am 18 and want to race and I am a diehard Suzuki fan, cause there crotch rockets are the best and the motors they put in the snowmobiles for Arctic Cat Rock!!!! Anyways I own an 86 Quadracer and I already know they can't be hopped up enough motorwise to compete plus they are only 5 speed, so now I am looking for an 88 or newer LT.
Thanx for the info guys keep it rollin in. |
Go to www.nacsracing.com and then go to "Chassis". Scroll down a ways and you'll see Laeger frames for nearly all makes including the LT. So to answer the original question, yes, Laeger makes LT frames.

Thanx for the info GuyRaptor, but I go to that site often and I seen it. Maybe I overlooked it, I'll go there now.
