Hey zookyrider what 1/4 time are you runnin. They allowed you to run at the same time as a bike? No track around here will even allow it. You can do it on the street illegally, but that is it. Alot of bikes 1/4 times are messed up by the rider, not the bike. A little help for everyone that doesn't know drag terms.

On your track ticket after running the 1/4 mile you see how fast you were going in different stages of the tracklike the 60' time, 150', 300' 1/8 mile, and so on. The reason for this is to see where either the car or driver needs to be improved. A crappy 60' time means either the car is getting going fast enough or the driver isn't getting it of the line. Down the track is usually adjustments to the car or the driver missed a shift (If they have them). I know there are cars that beat bikes for sure just watch ihra stuff. Little 4 and 6 cylinders are pulling high 9's low 10's.

My problem is the misnomer that a 750 is close to a 600. Yeah they have the same specs as far as geometry goes so does the 1000. That is not the motor or just speed down the track. Rider not included I have seen 600 fully worked (Prostar) going 10.1 1/4 mile times. So 600's will move I have also seen 750's crack into the high 9's. Bikes will go as fast as your wallet will take them.

 

A ninja 250 will not do 130mph.. it will "try" and get to 75,or even 80 on downhills.

 

Derno, My car will run 10.9 to 11 flat on the spray but it just has a bracket motor in it that is designed to live a long and useful life. I usually run around a 12 flat on the motor through the mufflers and like I said this is a bracket motor. I could step up to a 482 cid or larger engine and run 9's in the 1/4 but I'm a bracket racer and having an engine that will live and be consistent is more important to me. On Friday night at the grudge races they will allow you to run whoever you want. Saturday night is a different story though. Here is a recent timeslip on a very hot night. This is on the motor. This is a 3800 pound car through the mufflers on pump gas with 430 cubic inches with 10.5 slicks that I run in the no electronics class. I'll step back up to an electronic class super pro car again later with more engine but I'm recuperating from a divorce and I have recently become remarried. Both strain the play money account but the new wife likes cars and quads and what more is there to life. LOL

 

Some people read too much junk! A modded SHEE will outrun a stock Vette in the quarter mile. It is apparent to me that this is a good example of people that don't have any experience with bikes. And who said anything about a Hardly Jamminson! We all know they $u(k! He!!, you don't even have to be able to read to know that! Any 600 sport bike is slow compared to the big boys no matter what you do to it unless it is a full fledged drag bike that is not street legal. There is only three bikes that can beat mine out of the people I ride with. 1(Hayabusa) 2 (ZX12) 3 (modded ZX9). The 600's will not even say bye after they get spanked. They just leave and don't even look back!

 

The Hayabusa and the blue Gixxer with the 1300R or 1350R i'm not positive on the engine size thing on crotch rockets were not only bad but also extremely good looking and low slung. The guy on the blue gixxer ran a 10.4 on the back wheel on one pass. I've been known to make passes in anyones car regardless of the et and I have recorded a bunch of low 5 second passes in the 1/8 mile driving friends rails but the thought of running a 10.4 at over 130 on one tire is freaking nuts.

 

You pretty much have no chance against a bike if your a car.
Handling...hell no
Top speed...hell no
Power and Accel....Well if you mod the hell out of your car and spend a ton of money.
You can buy a 10 sec bike for around 3000 bucks (1994 or so 600).A ten second car...more than 3000 thats for sure. Well unless its just a motor on wheels and is completely worthless for anything else you may have a chance.Or you could spend around a million dollars on a Mcclaren F-1...and still not beat a 600 crotch rocket as well.

I know that 1 second is a pretty big difference when doing around 130 mph...think of how far you can go in 1 second when doing 130...thats your difference.
I was just making a point that a 600 is not in any way shape or form slow, or a beginners bike when it is surprisingly just a second behind a Busa.
I was comparing the 600 and 750 GSX out of a mag I have. They are running almost identical.

 

A bike is fast, but a 70 'Cuda (for instance) has aura. A bike no matter if it is a Busa has that. Nice bike and all though.
Some of my friends have bikes. I thought about it but there is something so "queer" about 6 guys on bikes all riding around together trying to pick up 16 year old girls at Taco Bell.
If you want to compare drag times, put 2 wheels & a pair of handlebars on a 440 Magnum, then let everyone know your E.T. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Oh man, I know yall aren't comparing those little bikes... If you want to run with the big boys, I'll take any of yall. Don't under estimate the power of a 86' Honda Passport 70 scooter [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]. It has a top speed of... well, it may not have much top speed, but it sure does have a lot of accele... ok, so no acceleration, but after I blew the baffle loose, and a few holes rusted into the pipe, it got about a 80% HP increase (just a joke).

Hehe... I'll stick with quads on dirt. Motorcycle's are to dangerous for me.
