I had my sons LT80 into the dealer for some TLC, and the mechanic asked me to come in the back so he could show me a few things....

the quad sitting next to the LT80 was a stock looking Z

I casually asked him what he was doing to the Z; thought he might be putting a pipe and filter on it or something....

he said "replacing the bent axle, we get a lot of them in here for that, they're not made for jumping"

I cracked up laughing, and said "what do you mean they're not made for jumping?", and told him about all of the jumps I've done with my 400EX and never had a problem.

he said "well, at least not what some of these guys are putting them through"

anyway's, he said that Suzuki has changed the axles over to stronger ones now, and that is the axle that comes on all new Z's

he also said that Suzuki will replace any of the old-style bent axles for free, even after the warrantee period...

that's the way a manufacturer should work...

i saw a kfx drop a axle on a double it looked kool as the axle snapped and the quad bounced sending the rider flying,lucky i was on a hil away from this furious man who was ripping apart his investment and shouting! i also seen a scrambler 500 4x4 snap a axle right where the carrier is and it still rode so he three wheeled home(mabey its polaris or mabey the man was in the mood to 3wheeler) lol
