I am going to change the pipe on my 89. It currently has an FMF Fatty on it.

What pipe are you running?
What do you like the best about it?
What do you dislike the most?

I am leaning toward the LRD, but haven't found one at a decent price yet.

hey , i am running the lrd adj pipe . i love it . you can adjust it to where you want the power to start . i ve had 4 diffrent pipes on mine and this one made the most difference . i like the power the best . i cant think of any dislikes . the only thing with the lrd is you have to save you fenders or modify the fender bracket or both .

Donzilla, How do you like the v-force reed setup? Much power increase?
(If you're like me, you did several mods at once, so you only notice the cumulative effect...)

I have a Paul Turner/Fat Boy exhaust on my '87, and it seems to have a good amount of arm yanking all through the power band. But, like Duneaddict said, I also did more then just change exhausts ( bored to .080, new FMF valve, 39mm carb, cool head, porting, etc) when I restored my baby and got it running again. Sure does sound mean, though. I was gonna get the LRD last winter-ish, but when I went to order it the price jumped about 40 bucks on their web-site, so I said screw it, I'll go with the PT. Plus I only trail ride and climb pits, so I didn't have a need for alotta top-end.......Latah.......

I replaced an old FMF pipe with a LRD pipe and there was allot more power in the bottom end. I have had it for around 4 yrs and it was $350.00. The chrome is still good but it LRD sticker on the tail pipe looks like crap! I will remove it this winter.

Thanks for all the good advice. I have found one LRD and a Trinity stage IV close and reasonable. I would like to hear from someone running a Trinity before I lay down the cash.....

Do you guys have any complaints about the fmf pipes? I just put a new fmf on today and couldn't be happier with the results. Lots more power everywhere (almost got me in trouble around some trees). Did anyone have a small exhaust leak at the stinger end and silencer tailpipe? I have a small leak there and wonder if a little high temp orange silicone may solve the problem. The only problem I had with my new setup is the turbine core silencer mounting holes were about an inch too far back resulting in a poor fit to the pipe. I made an aluminum bracket to bring the silencer closer to the pipe which worked well. Thanks, Karl

I have the Duncan "package" Paul Turner pipe and silencer. By the way my zilla is in the classifieds. And it will separate the men from the boys and your arms from your shoulders. LOL
