Whats the point in breaking the z in? How long does it take? For those who haven't have you had any problems? I heard someone say theirs was faster because they didn't.

You have to seat the rings and the bore. A stock bore has a crosshatch to hepl the rings form the shape of the bore and you have to do it slowly or you will have a engine that smokes. The engine is not use to the heat that you will put it through so you have to do cycles of letting the engine warm up and letting it cool so the parts will be heat treated.

Engine break in is one of those funny things. For the most part, it gives the company something to blame on you if it has problems. Two stroke must be broke in to keep from seizing pistons. Four strokes need to be brought to temp then rode good but not wound out for the first couple of hours.

We had a tractor engine rebuilt once with new crank, sleeves, pistons, cam, valves, rockers, etc. Dad asked the guy how we should break it in. He said, "Put a mower on it and run it". That meant 2300 rpms (diesel. Redlined at 2500) for 8 straight hours. It runs perfect today, six years later.

First ride on mine , I pulled it off the truck let it idle for about a half of Bud light , then topped it out , rode hard for about 3 hours
and could'nt get anything to brake .
All tho when I would come to a complete stop and sit for a minute or two it did not want to go into any gear , I thought it was stuck in N but after a few good wiggles and rev's and one kick , it's been fine
