i'm getting ready to put a new exhause system on my kfx 400 i was just wandering if anyone had any suggestions.

 

If you want to learn something about all the top performance pipes buy the new dirtwheels. There is a whole section there on pipe comparison's. I would recomend to you the Trinity though. Very good low and high end power and a great sound to. The best in my eyes

 

Several of the recent magazines have run pipe shootouts. Keep in mind that they don't take the time to perfectly jet the machines, so the results are in the ballpark, but not exact. I run an FMF PowerBomb and Ti4 (the 17" AMA legal one). Nice increase on the low and mid end, where this motor needs the most help!! I ride with everything Banshees, Raptors, a DS, another Z, 400EX, and a Predator, and nobody is beating me, especially in the tight technical stuff (I do have better suspension than any of them).

 

Don't listen to any of the pipe shootouts in any mag. The last one I read had a CT and a Graydon both in the same shootout. CT and Graydon are both the same pipe. The Z, unfortunatly ,dosen't get a whole ton of power from a pipe. I went with a LRD. I have always like them, they sound good, look good, its ceramic coated (they have chrome too), had a little more bottom end power. I like the pipe alot. Just pick the brand you like, I tried alot of them out, not a lot of difference. I almost bought a DMC, whole sys. for $375. I tried it, its nice too. I liked that not everyone has a LRD. Run a yoshi. i garuntee you that you love the power. I have the full system, and it rocks. when i just had the pipe i was smoken other 400!

 

I currently have an Alba full system and I like how it preforms, but I'm thinking about going with the Curtis Sparks or HMF systems, I've heard great things about both systems.

 

i have the hmf slip on but can not get the jetting wright. went to a 155 cut outs bad runns a little better with lid off but still cuts out so went to a dj jet 165 will not run with lid on runns good with it off. i ever tried going down to a 142.5 no good cuts out bad should i tri a 170? and go down from there? jetted this thing 4 time to day help?
