vinson winch install help
I recently installed a Ramsey 3000 pounder on my Eiger.
I installed the solenoid on a frame rail directly behind the winch
I installed the remote brain under the wheel well, small screws worked nice to attach to the plastic under there, it was actually the plastic on the rear of the wheel well that covers the steering assembly
I installed the toggle switch in the plastic assembly near the speedometer. Used a drill to drill a hole the proper size - worked out nice
You will have to fish the wires - I ran mine from the battery along the frame by the gas tank and out by the steering assembly. Be sure to keep the wires out of the way and tie them down good. You can't get enough wire ties on it.
As an added measure, I purchased some wire loom at the local auto parts store and covered mine real good before I tied the wires down on the front end. Gives a little extra protection and the wire loom is black so it matches the undercarriage real well.

vinson winch install help
Anthony, I have a Warn 3.0 ci 3000 lb winch on my vinson. I mounted
the solenoid for it under the seat, where the tookit is located. It was
a recessed enough pocket the solenoid fit into perfectly. I drilled through
the plastic and mounted it with the supplied screws. This keeps it out of
harms way and out of the elements. I threw my toolkit in the storage box
as an alternative. This seems to work great. As for the wires, I ran them along
the fram tube from under the seat, along side the steering stem, down
the side of the radiator support tube on the frame, and straight to
the terminals on the winch motor. Hope this helps. Good luck!!
I decided to go with the warn, because the winch was more powerful
and lighter weight.... only 19lbs, compared to all the others which were
between 21 and 25lbs. Trust me, after you mount it you will notice the
steering gets harder on the vinson. The extra weight savings helps alot!!!!
-Former 440ex Man... traded it for a Vinson Love the Vinson!!!!
