86 LT250R chain won't stay tight Help!!!!
Alright, I have a new chain and new sprocket on my quadracer, the hex head bolts are tight over the carrier, but for some reason the chain will not stay tight, and tightening it all the time is really getting annoying. Does anyone know if worn out axle bearings could be causing this?? Anyone have any other ideas??? Any help would be appreciated!!!

If his bike is an 86 and had the original swing arm, then he would have the older style carrier. It has 4 alan head bolts across the back. To tighten or loosen the chain you loosen them and spin the carrier around (its oval on the outside).
Its probably just not tight enough on the outside of the carrier and letting it spin on its own. |

i had a 89 and with the same problem i replaced the allen head bolts with regular bolts and it worked great but to honest with you if you have the funds get a new swing arm and up grade your suspension up front and back with todays quads with monster travel it wouldn't hurt to have more on a lt250 it's a great quad time to put some money in it and make it better
