My LT160 Won't Run
I have a 1999 Quadrunner 160 and it won't idle at all. To get it to start I have to have hold the throttle open or have the choke on. As soon as I let off it will stall. I have tried messing with the screw on the side of the carb. to adjust the idle speed but that doesn seem to be doing anything. Yesterday it ran perfect and it ran good in the garage this morning, but after about 5 minutes of riding it started to bog down almost like it wasn't warmed up enough. I let it sit for a little bit with the choke on and still had the problem. Now it seems to be getting worse. Anybody have any ideas to help?

Have you made any modifications to your air filter or air box? If so you might need to rejet it.

My LT160 Won't Run
I haven't made any modifications to it at all. Yesterday it was running fine and I didnt have any problems with it. I ran it wide open a few times today for about 5 minutes and now at least it will stay running, but it is very rough.

sounds like you either need to take the carb apart and clean it or adjust the valves.
before you do that clean the air filter and change out the spark plug. 160's act like this when the valves are out of adjustment...... Stan |

Thanks for the info but I got it fixed a month or two ago. The slow jet was plugged.

IS an lt 160 used to start lt250's?

My LT160 Won't Run
My cousins recond 250 did the same thing last winter, we poored some dry gas in the tank and that took care of it.

could you possibly tell me how to adjust the valves on my 1990 suzuki lt-160, or tell me a place to find out how to do so?

Try your dealership, they can tell you how to do it, or they can do it for you. My neighbor races dirtbikes, so he does all my maintanance on my quads.
