King Quad Help!!!?NEW ATV'r

I have a 97 King Quad. This is my first ATV. The battery was going dead. So I connected it to a battery charger. Now the starter won't turn over and the neutral and reverse lights will not come on. The pull start won't work either. What did I do? I set the charger up on it and noticed I was charging at 15amps. The book says not to charge over 14 amps. The Headlights come on so the battery is OK.

What could be broke?>

What concerns me is the fact that your pull start is now in/op. Are your fuses intact?I wish I could help more, but I do not know what the wiring is in a kingquad.

Well the motor turns over when I use the pull start just won't fire up. Is there and electronic module of some kind that controls the spark and starter? I am wondering If I burned it up with the charger. I looked at all the fuses and they seem to be fine. I am going to try a new Battery today. Funny thing is when you turn on the headlights they work fine.,

Raustin- I had as similar problem with my old 97 KQ. It was clicking but would not turn over. The connections needed cleaning on the battery and the starter relay. The starter relay is behind the battery box, under the front fenders. If this does not help you will have to run down the wires with a tester to see where the problem lies.

It may be as simple as this:
You may have accidentally bumped the reverse lever and moved it in the middle of the range. I did this once and it drove me nuts because I couldn't get the bike to do anything, no lights, nothing.

Move the red reverse lever all the way forward and try it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys,

ODB, I think you may have the answer. I installed a new battery last night. Everything worked for a second. The starter engaged. Then everything went dead again. I am going to take this thing apart and find that relay. Clean it and hope that is the problem. Sure seems logical.
